Franklin Delano Roosevelt autograph letter signed to his son, FDR Jr., signed ''Dad'' with warm, affectionate content. Also with original envelope postmarked from New York on 22 January 1928, handwritten by FDR and thus signed, as written to ''Master Franklin D. Roosevelt Jr.'' at the Groton School in Massachusetts. Letter reads in part, ''...I do hope all is going well with you - that you find things easy this term - How is the skating + coasting? We still have no snow + until 2 days ago it was warm, so much so that the River at Hyde Park broke up again + we are getting worried about getting in our crop of ice. Mother + Johnny went up Friday night + came back tonight. I am off to Suffern, near Tuxedo to preach a sermon in the Church this evening! Next Friday [?] - I leave for Warm Springs, so do send me a line before I go. Much love, keep well, + keep up with the work + play! / Your affectionate Dad.'' Two page letter on single sheet measures 6'' x 7''. Envelope measures 6.25'' x 3.5''. Light toning and chip along right side of envelope not affecting writing. Overall in very good plus condition.
