Frankenstein Chaney Lugosi Abbott Costello
Lou Costello's Mask from "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein." This treasure appears in prominent scenes throughout Universal's comedy-horror classic Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948). Cajoling with Lon Chaney Jr.'s character (Wolf Man/Larry Talbot) before and during the memorable costume ball scene or romancing hypnotic leading lady Lenore Aubert - without pesky Dracula (Bela Lugosi) or Frankenstein (Glenn Strange) getting in the way -- Lou Costello scored serious laughs with the mask by his side or over his characteristically side-splitting expressions. The papier-mâché mask was part of Emile LaVigne's collection from his 40-year career as a makeup artist in Hollywood. LaVigne, the makeup mastermind who worked on Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, retained the mask, obviously treasuring his time spent on set with the actors while making the comedy-horror classic. A sentimental keepsake from the production, the cherished mask was kept by LaVigne until his death in 1990, at which point it was handed down to his family. An amazing vintage horror artifact from a classic Universal film!{br}{br}{a href="/common/images/media/abbott_costello.wmv"}(Watch a video of Abbott and Costello and the masks){/a}

Shipping: Clothing, Costumes & Jerseys (view shipping information)
