<B>Frank Zappa</B></I> <B><I>200 Motels</B></I></B></I> <B>Score, Script, Album, and Motel Keys.</B></I> "Touring makes you crazy," Frank Zappa said of the inspiration for the 1971 movie <I>200 Motels.</B></I> A movie about life on the road, playing show after show on stage after stage, had a $600,000 budget, seven-day shoot, and an 11-day post-production period, all of which helped capture the sort of chaos Zappa and the Mothers of Invention wanted to depict. Most of the musical soundtrack for this film was recorded live as the film was shot, and like the movie, the double-album soundtrack LP was completed in about a week. Included in this lot is a large composition book labeled "200 Motels Book" with Zappa's named embossed on the cover, containing handwritten sheet music for the Overture, "Touring Can Make You Crazy," "Went on the Road," "This Town is a Sealed Tuna Sandwich," and other songs from the soundtrack. Also include: a copy of the shooting script for the movie, a vintage copy of the soundtrack double-LP, and approximately 200 assorted motel room keys (seriously).
