Frank Wesson Large Frame Superposed Double Barrel Pistol with Sliding Dagger
Produced between 1868 and 1880, this is a Third Type pistol with the retractable dagger located in the center of the barrel group, with checkering on the middle tube. Single line markings on the top left and lower right barrels, "FRANK WESSON WORCESTER MASS PAT DEC 15, 1868 JULY 20, 1869". The double edged dagger is 1 3/4" long.. Checkered hammer and serrated spur trigger, with the barrel catch on the underside of the frame and a pair of bird head rosewood grips. Matching serial numbers on the frame and right grip panel.

Very good. The barrel retain traces of blue in the protected areas with the overall patina a smooth brown. The brass frame has a smooth fine aged patina. The grips are very good with a minor gash on the left panel and a few minor tool marks around screw (both panels), along with some minor dings and scratches.
