Frank Godwin - Roy Powers, Eagle Scout Daily Comic Strip Original Art (circa 1938, Ledger Syndicate). Frank Godwin's mastery with a pen really shows in this feature from early in his tenure on the strip. The strip, numbered U-32, features both Roy Powers and his pal, Chunky, as they rescue a victim of pirates in the Caribbean. Roy and Chunky were members of "The Beaver Patrol" troop -- hey, now! Roy Powers was dubbed the official strip of the Boy Scouts of America, and it ran from 1937-43. Frank Godwin took over the art on the feature starting in 1938, and left shortly afterwards. The image area of the art measures 27.5" x 6". The paper was trimmed close to the image area, and panel three has a three-inch tear, descending from its top edge; otherwise the art is in Very Good condition.
