Frank Fogarty - Clarence Sunday Comic Strip Original Art, dated 6-10-46 (New York Herald-Tribune Syndicate, 1946). Dumpy Clarence Gimper tries to save the boss' face and winds up getting egg on his own, in this screwball strip by Frank Fogarty. When the original creator, Crawford Young, left to create the strip, Mortimer, Fogarty stepped in to fill the house-slippers as the artist and with the help of writer Weare Holbrook, continued to draw the strip until 1949. Measuring 16.5" x 24.5," this whopping page has some slight aging apparent along the extreme outside edges, and the logo type paste-up is missing, but overall the work is in Very Good condition. Signed in the final panel: "To my 'pal' Gil Fox from his fellow NCS member, Frank Fogarty." From the collection of Gill Fox.
