Frank Brunner - Doctor Strange Illustration Original
Frank Brunner - Doctor Strange Illustration Original Art (1970s). This large illustration displays Frank Brunner's huge talent for expressive ink work. His ability to convey a variety of textures with many cross-hatching and line styles is all the more impressive because of the way that the imagery maintains its fluid essence. Brunner's work on the Doctor Strange universe of characters and backgrounds is milestone, and this piece exhibits many of those elements. The multi-planed imagery is successfully unified by the strong composition and use of line which centers on the serpent, spins to the eye, is shot across to the giant, led up the mace, to the thinking figure of Doctor Strange, across the void to the eclipse and back to the serpent. This piece includes some airbrush and pencil work that enhances the published art. Our research indicates that this piece saw publication in a fanzine just before or just after Brunner began his stint on the " "Marvel Premiere series. the image area measures 13"" x 18"" and the condition is Excellent.

Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour.
