Nice Franco Era Spanish Officer's Lion's Head Sword, with scabbard. The 30-1/4'' bright nickel-plated blade has one wide fuller and is double edged about 9'' from the tip, marked at ricasso ''Toledo Spain''. The original felt and leather blade washer is present. The pierced guard has the Spanish eagle and cross in relief with two branches. Grip panels are checkered black plastic with retaining screws. Scabbard is nickel-plated steel with one hanging ring. OAL is 37''. Condition is very good, the blade having a slight haze of oxidation that should clean nicely. Guard shows slight wear to the gold finish with a tight crack in one of the branches. Grip panels are in very nice condition. There is wear to the gold finish on the top of the lion's head and the sides of the grip area. Scabbard has a haze of oxidation overall, with some scattered spots of rust that may clean up nicely. Est.: $75-$150.
