Ninth governor of Texas (1815-1905) who was in office during the American Civil War. Partly-printed DS, signed “Francis R. Lubbock,” one page, 6.25 x 3.25, September 1, 1842. One hundred dollar bank note issued to Charles Chamberlain by the Consolidated Fund of Texas, signed at the bottom by Lubbock as Comptroller and countersigned by stock commissioner William G. Cooke. In fine condition, with a cancellation cut to body and a uniform shade of mild toning.
