French avant-garde painter, poet, and typographist (1879–1953) who was an early major figure of the Dada movement. ALS in French in pencil, one page, 8 x 4.25, October 30, 1919. In full (translated): "I authorize Mr. Brissy to photograph my paintings exhibited at the Salon d'Automne." In fine condition, with central vertical and horizontal folds, and light creases. Picabia caused a sensation at the 1919 Salon d'Autome with the display of paintings in his machinist style, including 'The Child Carburetor,' the likes of which had not yet been exhibited in Paris.
