France. Lot of 9 pcs. Includes 1/2 ecu's 1726-1731. These are the only coins of this type recovered in this portion of the recovery work in 2002. The following dates are fair to visible, 1726A, 1726C, 1726D(2), 1729V, 1729-9 and 1731O. The 1729V is an unlisted date in the Krause. All are quite worn and show various degrees of see corrosion. A must see. Sold as is. VG to Fine<BR><BR>Each individual coin and/or lot will show the gradefollowed by a letter ranking (a), (b) and (c). The letter (a) will indicate that the salt water has had some minor affect on the coins and its patina is not unattractive. The letter (b) will indicate that the coinsshow some form of sea immersion affects in that the patina may show slightly more corrosion, however the coin remains aesthetically pleasing. The letter (c) will indicate sea immersion affects more severe than the (b) type described above, but all the dates and details will be there and visible. Extensively damaged or worn coins will be described and priced as such.<BR><BR>Notice. For all winners of lots pertaining to the Auguste Shipwreck, please be advised that due to Canadian Laws in reference to the Exportation of Archeological and Shipwreck finds, a request for permission to export these items must to be filled and sent into Canadian Customs for approval for every lot won and shipped outside Canada. In most cases this will cause a delay of 10 to 20 business days for all shipment of lots once payment received. We have been in discussion with Canada Customs and anticipate no problems. 1. Unless otherwise specified, all our Auctions are mail & Internet auction sales conducted and licensed. All bids are per lot. No lots will be broken. Auction sales are not approval sales. <BR><BR>
2. All lots shall be sold to the highest bidder as determined by the auctioneer. If any dispute arises during the sale, the auctioneer has the right to re-open the lot and put it up for sale again. The auctioneer’s decision will be final. If there are identical bids, the earliest received shall take priority. No BUY bids or unlimited bids will be accepted. Bids may be made through eBay, by mail, fax, telephone or e-mail.<BR><BR>
3. A 15% buyer’s fee will be added to the invoice of each successful bidder floor, mail and/or phone bidder. Ebay bidders a 19.5% buyer’s fee will be added to the invoice.<BR><BR>
4. Prices realized will be published and sent to all bidders.<BR><BR>
5. ALL LOTS MUST BE PAID FOR IN FULL PRIOR TO DELIVERY. Payments must be made by cheque, bank wire transfer to TCNC’s account or cash. To be fair with our customers who pay cash, Visa and Master Card will be accepted with a 2% premium. Bidders who do not have an established business relationship with The Canadian Numismatic Company will be required to provide credit references prior to the sale. For our established customers, your lots are shipped when your cheque is received. For new customers, your cheque must clear before shipping lots. If you wish to receive your lots faster, you might consider a certified cheque or you can wire your payment directly to our Bank account. All payments and/or payment confirmations must be received no later than 20 days following the Auction date, Successful bidders sending payments following this date will forfeit return privileges.<BR><BR>
6. The auctioneer will open the bidding at the higher of approximately 10% above the second highest bid received or the consignor’s reserve. All bids received will be reduced whenever possible. So, don’t be afraid to bid high. If there are no bids received or reserve, the auctioneer will open bidding at about 50% of the estimate. The auctioneer reserves the right to withdraw any lot for any reason at any time prior to its sale. In a case of a signifi cant event which, in the judgement of the auctioneer reserves the right to cancel or postpone this sale.<BR><BR>
7. Prices are in Canadian funds. Bidding in this auction will be in Canadian funds. Mail bids received from USA customers will be converted at the exchange rates of the sale’s date rate.<BR><BR>
8. The estimates listed are taken from the Canadian Coin News, Charlton catalogues, Canadian Dealers News letter and retail prices, e-bay sales, Cornwell report and/or the actual market selling / asking prices. Key dates and Highest grade material will generally command a premium and should sell close to and/or above the estimate. Our estimates are fair and very reasonable, please bid accordingly. No lot should sell less than 50% of the estimates. With a bid of 80% of the estimate, you have a fair chance of succeeding, with a bid of 100% of the estimate, you will be likely to succeed.<BR><BR>
9. The cataloguer has taken every reasonable measure to ensure that all of the lots in this sale are as described and genuine. All raw coins and banknotes have been graded by the cataloguer or the auction house which represent our best professional opinion. To grade coins and banknotes, we use Canadian grading standards, 27 years of experience and good conscience. Grading is a subjective description in the opinion of the cataloguer or the auction house. Among experts there are often differences of opinion on the grading and the eye appeal of a coin. The strike and the state of preservation are often debated. TCNC acts as an agent between consignors and buyers. TCNC does not guarantee that any coin or banknote catalogued will meet the standards, or the grade, of any third party grading companies. No warranty, whether impressed or implied.<BR><BR>
10. Title to all lots remains with the auction house until paid for in full by the purchaser. But they are held at the risk of the purchaser once the time of the sale.<BR><BR>
11. All lots delivered outside Canada are exempt of tax. Sales tax, if applicable will be added to the total amount of each invoices including the buyer’s charge. To all lots delivered in Canada GST of 5% will be charged. To all lots delivered in Quebec PST of 7.5% will be charged. To all lots delivered in NFLD, NS, NB HST of 13% will be charged. BC residents will be charged PST ONLY if pick up is made in British Columbia.<BR><BR>
12. Shipping and insurance will be charged to all successful bidders.<BR><BR>
13. Mail bidders may return incorrectly described lots for full refund within 5 days of receipt, (except on bulk lots or any lot that contains more than 5 items). NO RETURNS can be accepted for ANY REASON after May 5, 2008 as consignors must be paid.<BR><BR>
14. TCNC acts ONLY as agent for the consignors and makes no independent warranty to title. TCNC hereby disclaims all liability for damages, incidental, consequential or otherwise, arising out of or in connection with the sale of any property by TCNC to the purchaser.
