<B>France 1870s/1914 Satirical Group Lot.</B></I> Consists of three tokens struck and manufactured from coins. The first depicts Napoleon III wearing a German helmet, the caption around "Napoleon III Miserable 80,000 prisonniers." This relates to the Franco-Prussian War of 1870. The second piece is related to the first, as it is an 1854 10 centime coin that has been altered with a German helmet engraved onto the head of Napoleon III. The third piece is a French 10 centime coin that has been reengraved and altered to look like the Kaiser, with the date 1914 on his collar and a chain behind his head. These popular items should attract interest from collectors in many different disciplines.
