Framed collage of authentic memorabilia relating to Pawnee Bill and Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. Outside dimensions are approx. 26” by 28”. The interior of frame shows 6 framed artifacts which are described left to right, top to bottom. 1: A letter, approx. 11” by 8-1/4”, on Pawnee Bill’s Wild West Co Inc. stationary showing Bill’s portrait at left, inscribed in pencil “Norristown, August 8th” on right, addressed to “William Richey”, signed “Jim Richie” in lower right. The letter, written to Richie’s uncle and tells about a big flood with a Japanese man being killed in the flood, and about Richie’s participation in the show. 2: An original photograph on cardstock, approx. 6-1/2” by 4”, label reads “Pentz and Swords, Professional photographers, York, PA” and shows a young Pawnee Bill with riding crop, high boots, and western dress. The photograph is in good condition with some staining. 3: Same size, same photographer, original photograph of Annie Oakley with exposed hammer shotgun very early in her career. The photo shows considerable spotting and staining. 4: Original envelope with two-cent cancelled stamp dated 1906, addressed to “William Richie, Washington County, PA”, to whom the letter in this display was written. 5: Embosses souvenir route card, 5” by 3-3/8” showing embossed portrait of Pawnee Bill. 6: Framed cover for Buffalo Bill Stories showing Pawnee Bill and Buffalo Bill, November 26, 1910. Measuring 10-1/2” by 7-1/2”. Shows a colorful front of Buffalo Bill in action and Pawnee Bill in background, titled “Buffalo Bill at Tinaja Wells” in good condition.
