Framed Vtg 1940s DEVORSS Pin-Up Print Leggy Blonde
This is a framed vintage 1940s pin-up print by Billy DeVorss titled Pink Lady. Framed behind glass in a really unique vintage wood frame with sculpted roses around the entirety of its face, this is from the estate of a big pin-up collector. SIZE: Approx. 12" x 17 1/2". Alone among the pin-up artists in being entirely self-taught, Billy DeVorss (1908-1985) created lush and vibrant pinups, often inspired by New York's theatres and nightclubs. DeVorss sold his first three published pinups to the Louis F. Dow Calendar Company in St. Paul about 1933. Until that time, he had been working as a teller in a bank in St. Joseph, Missouri. There he had met the stunning woman, Glenna, who became his wife and first official model.

The print is in very good condition with a scrape that mostly blends in with the colors under the girl's right leg as well as some light crinkling that's not really noticable until viewed at an angle; the second photo exagerates the crinkling so that it can be seen better. The frame is in excellent condition with light wear and a few small nicks.
