A dramatic end has come to the age of silver in America coinage. Silver dollars and virtually all other silver coins have become collector's items since the United States Mint switch to "clad" coins in 1964. Since 1968, even paper money no longer be redeemed * for raw silver. Offered here is a 11 1/2" x 13 3/4" wooden frame "The Silver Story" and a 10 1/4" x 12 1/4" wooden frame "The Silver Standard". The Silver story consists of a 1921 Silver Dollar, silver granules from deposits in Nevada, California, and Colorado, * a 1943 War Nickel, a 1956 silver Dime, and a 1957 $1 Silver Certificate. The Silver Standard frame consists of a 1963 Silver Half Dollar, silver granules, 1943 Silver Quarter, 1943 Silver Nickel, 1962 Silver Dime, and a 1957 B $1 Silver Certificate. In between * all of the currency is a photo of what looks like a family dinner with the caption below that reads, "Freedom from Want". Both frames are in very good condition with some scratches to the frames. There is hanging wire on the back of the "The Silver Story" * frame. *
