Beautiful ancient textile created in northern Peru by the Chancay culture. Dating between 1000-1300 A.D., woven of fine camelid fibers in very rare colors of blue, brown, red and gold in horizontal (or can be hung so stripes are vertical) stripes with fine, almost gauze-like, interlocking blue threads. Textile itself measures 25"W x 26"H (frame measures 30.5" by 30.5"), in excellent condition, has been custom mounted/framed in a Lucite shadowbox and is ready to hang. Ex-private Santa Fe, NM Collection.
