A finely executed color botanical print after the work of Georg Dionysius Ehret, one of the most influential botanical illustrators of the 18th century. This piece, Plate 16 from an original series circa 1750, depicts a banana tree with vivid green foliage and orange blossoms. It includes a dedication to the Duke of Chaulnes, President of the Royal Academy of Sciences at Paris, and features a decorative crest and calligraphic script. In the margin: G.D.
