Titled <I>Salinas Rodeo</B></I>, this poster is a vibrant and eye-popping display depicting all aspects of life in the rodeo. The poster enumerates the history, tools and symbols of the American Cowboy in an intense presentation of iconic Western art. The “Sweetheart of the Rodeo” symbol at the top center of the poster is an iconic image, used most famously on the cover of The Byrds’ album <I>Sweetheart of the Rodeo</B></I> (along with some other art from this very poster). The bottom left of the poster reads “Jo Mora Publications, Monterey, California”, and the bottom right reads “Copyrighted 1933 by Jo Mora.” The poster is in excellent condition, with a few wrinkles on the surface of the paper and light toning visible around the edges. Original releases of this poster are scarce, especially in this condition. Joseph Jacinto “Jo” Mora is one of the most respected and famous Western artists of the 20th century, and <I>Salinas Rodeo</B></I> is one of his most sought-after works.
