Fr. 831 $50 1918 Federal Reserve Bank Note PMG About Uncirculated 53. This is not a really rare note in terms of numbers known, with a few over fifty pieces enumerated, but about a dozen are permanently impounded and the remaining thirty-odd pieces are held closely by collectors. This is a one-number major type. The St. Louis district was the only district for which Fifties were printed, and this Teehee-Burke, Attebery-Wells signature combination was the only one employed. The note is broadly margined with excellent color and terrific eye appeal. It certainly has the look of a fully Uncirculated note, but there is without doubt a minor fold somewhere as this note has been called AU in all its auction appearances dating back to the early 1990s. In its last trip to the auction block, the note realized just a drop over $25,000.
From The Peter Gamble Collection.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
