<B>Fr. 817a $10 1915 Federal Reserve Bank Note PCGS Gem New 66PPQ.</B></I> An absolutely gorgeous note with Cross listed as Acting Secretary. Track & Price lists only five examples of Fr. 817a as opposed to 84 for Fr. 817. PCGS has graded eleven Fr. 817's and five 817a's. This is the highest graded 817a, and the only one at the 66 level. All this needs to be taken fairly lightly, as both Fr. 817 and Fr. 817a have always seemed to us to be the same note. There may be an emperor's-new-clothes-thing going on here that escapes us. However, if anyone can show this cataloger the difference between these two notes, this cataloger would truly appreciate it. The note is absolutely beautiful, with broad, even margins, terrific paper originality and absolutely perfect color. On top of the extremely high 66 grade, PCGS has added its all-important PPQ for, "Premium Paper Quality."
