<B>Fr. 22 $1 1875 Legal Tender PMG Choice Uncirculated 64EPQ.</B></I> This is the "B" series note from the 1875 Aces. Only about 20 examples are known in all grades, just two of which are listed in the census as being UNC. The other two UNC notes are 20 numbers apart. This one, which is new to the census, falls right in the middle of those two. We sold one of them in May of 1998 for $7150. That note was also from plate 35. Plate 35 has the doubled "of 1875" in "Series of 1875" at the upper left. Research by Doug Murray and his examination of the proof for plate 35 indicates that only the "B" plate position notes have this engraving error. This piece represents the fifth known example of this erroneously engraved plate.
