Fr. 204 $100 1863 Interest Bearing Note Proof. This gorgeous Proof is separated from the Gem grade by three very light storage folds. The proof is of the face plate only, and it bears the imprints of both the American Bank Note Company and the National Bank Note Company. All three of the original coupons are attached. Only two examples of issued Fr. 204's exist, and neither has ever appeared on the open market. One is in the Smithsonian, and the other is the Friedberg illustration note. Only this piece and two others are known as Proofs. This note has seven small punch holes: two in each signature and one in each coupon. It's drawn from the completed plate missing only its serial numbers, seal and green protector overprint. This Proof was last sold in January 2000 by Stack's, where it realized just over $7500. With the increased demand for important Proof impressions, we would not be at all surprised to see this lovely item reach the five-figure mark. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
