<B>Fr. 196a $10 1863 Interest Bearing Note PMG Very Fine 20.</B></I> A pleasing example which may be the only one known note to carry the stamped date of May 14, 1864. The only other known note with this date is the $20 listed in lot 14201 in this auction. The exact reason these 1863 issues were stamped with this date is still unclear and perhaps this information is hidden in the extensive Treasury records of the day.
