<B>Fr. 174 $100 1880 Legal Tender Fine.</B></I> Less than twenty examples of this Friedberg number are known in all grades combined. This piece, though well circulated, is wholly presentable, and with much better overall eye appeal than one would expect for the Fine grade. Its only problem is a tiny repair at the lower left corner--wholly outside the design. Appearances of this number at public sale are few and far between with only four examples having reached the auction block in the past seven years. These Large Red Seals had a tendency to fade as the notes circulated, but luckily that has not occurred on this note, and the seal is dark and bold with all of its detail distinct. The note is also very well margined both face and back, and save for the single corner repair, it is utterly unmolested.
