The note has been repaired at the edges by the replacement of a few missing pieces and a few small holes have been fixed, but the overall appearance is that of a complete note with some handling. When the Encyclopedia was printed, only six examples were known to exist of this Type II Spinner back. In the intervening years, that count has slightly more than doubled, but the total known population is still just a bit more than a dozen. Type II Spinner Backs were not included in the Specimen Sets sold at the Treasury and apparently were not prepared for the purpose of distribution, as all known examples lack the bronze "50" surcharge that appears on the regular-issue notes. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder.
