<B>Fr. 1321 50¢ Second Issue Superb Gem New.</B></I> A far scarcer number of the Second Issue 50¢ Type--and a real beauty at that. We sold this beauty once before as Lot 122 of our September 2000 sale where it was described, "This is far and away the finest example of this rare fiber paper Fractional that we have had the pleasure of handling. In all our sales, we've had only one Fr. 1321 graded Gem and this is the first Superb Gem. It's beautifully well centered on both sides, with perfect ink, paper and bronze colors. It's also extremely well printed, which is a most unusual occurrence for a Second Issue fiber paper note. When 50¢ Second Issue fiber paper notes are encountered, they are almost always Fr. 1322. A Fr. 1321 in this condition has been unheard of until the appearance of this outrageous piece."
