Fr. 1282 Milton 1E25R.1 25¢ First Issue Uncut Sheet of Sixteen Backs PMG Extremely Fine 40 EPQ. Neither the Friedberg number nor the Milton number is exactly accurate here, as this unique multiple should rightly be considered an Experimental Sheet. It's printed on light yellow bond paper, quite unlike that used for the Regular Issue notes. This was previously Lot 879 from B. Max Mehl's 1943 Grinnell sale, where he cataloged it, "The Sheet has been folded, but the creases are hardly noticeable, and the notes as a whole are uncirculated. The first I have ever heard of." We have not seen another, either in single or multiple form. One of the highlights of Frederick Mayer's First Issue collection. PMG has enclosed the original B. Max Mehl lot card with the sheet.
