Fr. 1255 Milton 3R10.6g 10¢ Third Issue Extremely
Fr. 1255 Milton 3R10.6g 10¢ Third Issue Extremely Fine. From our January 1997 offering of the Milt Friedberg Collection where it was described, "This note is missing its bronze surcharges on both the face and back. At the time the Encyclopedia was published, only a single piece was thought to exist, the presumption being that the Limpert Sale note and the 1958 ANA Sale note were the same piece. It turns out that this piece, which was in the collection of Jackson Storm, was one of those two pieces. It's interesting to note that the back centering on both of the known pieces is unusually low and left, making it an extreme likelihood that they are both survivors from a single sheet. In any event, this incredible piece is one of only two known. It will likely be the centerpiece of any collection of Fractional Errors." Acquired by Tom O'Mara as Lot 845 from CAA's 1/97 Sale. Previously in the collection of Jackson Storm, who acquired the note from this cataloger in June of 1981.
