None of the surviving pieces are listed as uncirculated in the census, and only two are graded about uncirculated. This piece has a number of light folds, but the colors are 100% perfect as are the margins. This note has auctioned twice in recent years. We sold the note in September, 2000 for $16,500, and it was re-auctioned just eight months later, where it realized $20,625. It's as handsome a $500 Gold Certificate as we have ever had the opportunity to examine. There is no doubt, that this piece will exceed its price of three years ago when it falls under the hammer this evening.
