Fr. 1127 $100 1914 Federal Reserve Note PMG Extremely Fine 40 EPQ. There has been no opportunity to purchase any of the five known Fr. 1127s at auction since November of 2001 when a raw VF 20 realized $3960. Tom's note is listed on the census, which remains at a significantly low five. This "Exceptional Paper Quality" PMG 40 is a gorgeous note with perfect color and pronounced original embossing. There is a single available Dallas $100 with about thirty examples known, but the total for all four numbers is less than forty. This White-Mellon piece is the highest reported in Track & Price, and the highest graded by PMG--PCGS has yet to see an 1127. This piece will very likely remain permanently at the top of the census for this truly rare number.
From The Thomas M.
