Fr. 1120 $100 1914 Federal Reserve Note PMG
Fr. 1120 $100 1914 Federal Reserve Note PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45. There are 33 known examples of this Burke-McAdoo Kansas City Blue Seal $100. We have cut enough PMG notes out of their holders to know that as a rule, when they call a note a 45, it has several light folds, but they sure can be deceptive in the holder. This is one of those notes. This example has the full appearance of what one would expect of a Gem. No folds are visible, the margins are broad, the colors are perfect, and traces of embossing can be seen through the holder. The highest PCGS or PMG example to auction prior to this note was a PMG 30, which sold in November 2007 for $1150.
From The Thomas M.
