Two signed.</B></I> Ray Bradbury is one of the most popular fantasy & science fiction authors of all time, with millions of novels, short story collections, poetry, plays, film scripts and more in print. He has never won a Hugo or Nebula award, but he has been honored as a Grand Master by the Science Fiction Writers of America, received both World Fantasy and Stoker life achievement awards, been bestowed the National Medal of Arts by President George W. Bush, and been inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame, winning that organization's First Fandom Award. And the list goes on. For his work in the living arts, he has won an Emmy Award (for the animated adaptation of his own <I>The Halloween Tree</B></I>) and been celebrated for posterity with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Amazing achievements for a writer of Mars, rockets, distant planets, galaxies and time travel who is himself afraid to fly in an airplane. This lot features four Bradbury classics. <B><I>Fahrenheit 451</B></I></B></I> <B>Signed, Limited Edition.</B></I> (New York: New York Limited Editions Club, 1982), limited edition, 152 pages plus colophon, silver aluminum binding with red, white, and black decorative stamped binding on the spine and front cover, 4to (7" x 11"), comes in custom silver slipcase, with title in black lettering on spine, silvered edges. Number 1332 of 2000. Illustrated by long-time Bradbury collaborator Joseph Mugnaini. Signed "<I>Ray Bradbury</B></I>" and "<I>Joseph Mugnaini</B></I>" on colophon page. This beautiful copy of Bradbury's masterpiece is about fine, with minor fingernail impressions in the aluminum binding.<BR><B><I>Something Wicked This Way Comes</B></I></B></I> <B>First Edition.</B></I> (New York: Simon and Schuster, 1962), first edition, first printing, 317 pages, yellow cloth with black lettering on the spine and cover, 8vo (5.75" x 8.25"), dust jacket (in protective Mylar). Deckled fore-edge. Book is fine. Dust jacket is very good, with some spine wear, and a half-inch tear to the bottom front cover. Really nice copy of this fabulous, nostalgic fantasy set in a fictionalized version of Bradbury's hometown of Waukegan, Illinois.<BR><B><I>The Halloween Tree</B></I></B></I> <B>First Edition.</B></I> (New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1972), first edition, 145 pages plus colophon, black cloth with silver and orange lettering on spine and cover, 8vo (6.75" x 9.25"), dust jacket (in protective Mylar). Fine copy, with very slight wrinkle to top of dust jacket.<BR><B><I>The Machineries of Joy</B></I></B></I> <B>Signed First Edition.</B></I> (New York: Simon and Schuster, 1964), first edition, first printing, 255 pages, 8vo (5.75" x 8.5"), dust jacket (in protective Mylar). Signed "<I>Ray Bradbury</B></I>" on front free endpaper. This copy is very good, with very minor edge wear to the book and jacket, spine wear to the jacket, and a very small stain on the bottom of the jacket cover. Rare opportunity to purchase four Bradbury firsts, two of them signed.
