<B>Four Wernher Von Braun Signed First Day Covers: Two Authentic, Two Autopen</B></I> "<I>Wernher Von Braun</B></I>". All four covers measure 6.5" x 3.75". Two first day covers are actually signed by Von Braun. These two covers celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Fort Bliss, both are postmarked November 5, 1948, El Paso, Texas. Each is stamped with a 3-cent Fort Bliss stamp. Cachet at left depicts two 19th century scenes at the founding of Fort Bliss. Two first day covers are autopen signed. These two covers commemorate John Glenn's historic first orbital flight by an American astronaut, both are postmarked February 20, 1962, Cape Canaveral, Florida. Each is stamped with a 4-cent Project Mercury stamp. Cachet at left depicts Glenn in flight helmet, the NASA Mercury Atlas rocket, and a scene of the rocket orbiting the Earth. All four in extremely fine condition.
