This wonderful bar display advertising 4 Roses Bourbon Whiskey was made by and marked Mattel Advertising Display Company c 1940. In 1884, Paul Jones Jr., the founder of Four Roses Bourbon, moved his thriving business to Louisville, Kentucky, where he opened an office in a section of historic Main Street called, Whiskey Row. Four years later, he trademarked the name Four Roses, claiming production and sales back to the 1860s. Four Roses was the top selling Bourbon in the US in the 30s, 40s and 50s.
Featuring a rather unfriendly looking bulldog with a silver spiked collar, which someone wrote a name on his nametag, there is a square portion in the back to hold swizzle sticks and a circle in front to hold a bottle of 4 Roses. A great bar display that would be an addition to any Advertising Collection. In good + condition, this piece is all original, nothing has been touched up, and there are several nicks and chips in the chalkware which I have tried to show in my pictures and it measures 10 inches tall, 10 1/4 inches long and 7 inches wide.
SH & Ins. will be quoted after orders placed. If you have any questions feel free to contact me and thank you for looking.
