Magnificent vintage matte-finish 14 x 11 full-length photo of six members of the University of Notre Dame football team posing alongside the great Jim Thorpe, who is wearing a Native American headdress and holding a football. This posed photo was taken during the filming of the 1931 movie "The Spirit of Notre Dame." The movie featured recently graduated Irish quarterback Frank Carideo, the 1924 National Champion Four Horsemen backfield, and All American center for that 1924 team, Adam Walsh.

The image is signed in black ink by center Adam Walsh, quarterback Frank Carideo, and the vaunted Four Horsemen: Don Miller, Elmer Layden, Jimmie Crowley, and Harry Stuhldreher. Lower portion bears an ink inscription, "In appreciation for your courtesies and your pictures—Ray." To be clear, Thorpe did not sign this photo. It is in excellent overall condition, with four signatures grading ("8-9/10") while Miller ("7") is slightly lesser. An incredibly rare photo of the legendary Notre Dame backfield, a quartet virtually nonexistent in examples of this size.
