College football Hall of Famer who comprised one-quarter of Notre Dame’s ‘Four Horsemen.’ TLS, one page, 8.5 x 7.25, University of Wisconsin letterhead, September 25, 1947. Letter to a young collector. In part: “I am naturally happy to hear about your interest in football and regret exceedingly that I can’t give you a picture of my playing days…Let me assure you that I feel highly honored in being asked for this. You will hear from the other Horsemen in due time.” In fine condition. A clean and bright example from a member of one of football’s most-storied groups.
