Graphic Novels have been a standard form of comics publishing during the past twenty-five years or so, but there were a few earlier attempts at the format. This crime mystery story by George Harmon Coxe was one of two digest-size "Told In Pictures" illustrated paperbacks published by Dell in 1950 (the other was Twice Loved). While the painted cover illustration looks similar to most paperback novels of the era, the story inside is told in all comics, printed in full color. A very unusual and seldom-seen item! Not listed in Overstreet. From the Crippen Collection.

Shipping: Books & Catalogs (view shipping information)
