<B>Four Civil War Related Letters</B></I> including a long ten-page letter from Union Sergeant Henry Walker, in Virginia, written to his mother on Christmas Day, 1863, in which he describes in detail preparations for an inspection and writes in disgust “<I>Maj Genl Sedgewick was there and if they had only kept the whiskey away it would have been a good thing…I was disgusted when the general rode through here in the evening, he did not show as he was too much the worse for whiskey, but some others did and I thought it would have been better if they had kept away out of sight of the men…</B></I>”, with the usual folds, in very good condition with original stamped envelope; a short one-page letter, with patriotic flag vignette, dated December 8, 1861 from E. H. Bouttelle, Otisco New York , requesting his brother “<I>come up after me Friday knight sic </B></I>”, written in pencil, with the usual fold creases, slightly cockled, else good; a June 8, 1865 hand-written document, authorizing two soldiers to enter Washington, D. C., with the usual fold creases, very good; and a four-page letter, dated September 22, 1866, written from Ft.
