Presented to Herbert Straker and signed GAF in 1928.***The book contains proof plates with explanations and comments in Fothergill's hand, e.g. on the front end paper, under his signature, G.A.F. explains as follows "The only set of proof plates unbound, and after my own design, carried out by Messs. Henderson & Bissett ..... I sent the only other set of proofs to the publishers but so far as I know they have not had them bound ....", the proof of the title page bears the comment 'this is the engraver's proof. The title page was not used like this - my lettering was deleted and printers type used instead. G.A.F.'. There are more comments in similar vein £400-600
