Museum Quality Fish, 13" Long, Complete with Skin Impressions. Phareadus were voracious predatory fish distantly related to the Aravana fish in the Amazon. This complete, near perfect specimen is from the famous Green River area in Wyoming and is 55 million years old. It is a rich dark brown color on a tan limestone matrix with a few internal cracks. Every single bone is 3-D with fabulous detail. The fishes mouth is open, displaying more than a dozen small sharp teeth, some of which stand out in 3-D relief. Also, large patches of scales are preserved on top of the skeleton. At 13" long, it is very large for a Phareodus. The matrix slab is 18" x 15", and suitable for framing.
