<B>Fort Myers, FL</B></I> - $5 1902 Plain Back Fr. 600 <B>The First NB</B></I> Ch. # 9035<BR>We first viewed this simply spectacular note a decade ago when it was brought to Memphis by Florida collector (and Fort Myers resident) Bill Sonnenberg. While we, along with everyone who viewed it, fell in love with the note, it was untouchable because of the price put on it by its owner. At the end of the show, our consignor, putting aside his best judgement, bit the bullet and paid the price necessary to obtain this beauty. As has been the case over the last four decades in Nationals, last decade's "all the money" price has turned out to be this decade's screaming bargain, especially when the note in question turns out to be both truly rare and unusually high grade. Not only is this the finest of only three large notes from Fort Myers, but it may well be the nicest Blue Seal extant from any Florida bank. It now resides in a PMG holder bearing a grade of <B>Gem Uncirculated 66EPQ,</B></I> with the holder noting "Exceptional Paper Quality (and) Great Embossing." Having viewed the note outside the holder, we are in full accord with both the grade and the comments, as this pen signed gem is both fully original and as bright as the day it left the bank.
