Lot of 2 different. 1) Very rare Beckwith & Co., Bankers check with RN-G. Dateline is Evanston, Wyo. T. with handwritten Fort Bridger. 1881. Issued to J. Van A. Carter, signed by Ft. Bridger post trader WA Carter. 2) ME Carter, Post Trader pictorial check, 1883. Signed by Mary E. Carter for the Estate of WA Carter. Our friend Michael Wehner wrote in the May 2020 Esylum about W.A. Carter: "William Alexander Carter known as "Mr. Fort Bridger" was the most important individual at Fort Bridger, Wyoming and a key player in the economic development of the intermountain west." Carter arrived in 1859 and stayed at Fort Bridger until his death in 1881.
