It is arguably the finest Oregon Red Seal in existence, and certainly finer than any listed in the census. The red overprint is as bright as any we've seen and the paper is the pure creamy white that collectors dream of. Were it not for a light paper clip mark at the left this would easily grade Gem New. Even with this flaw, the only grade that does justice to this beauty is <B>Choice Crisp Uncirculated.</B></I><BR><I>Obtained from Roy Sparks, Jr. in March of 1992. Roy, a banker by trade and a collector-dealer in his spare time, had received a phone call about a note found in the proverbial "old bible."
