Alfred Hitchcock, master director of thrillers, brought the war home to America in this 1940 tale of wartime intrigue. Hitchcock directed this film in part to help FDR in his quest to sway the isolationist opinions held by many Americans. The famous tag scene at the end of the film was hastily thrown together to take full advantage of the recent news that Nazi Germany would soon begin its bombing of London. Gary Cooper was originally asked to play the role of the war reporter by Hitchcock, but after he declined the role it was given to leading man Joel McCrea. This reissue one sheet has pinholes, edge chips, tape scuffs and stains, and fold wear with small separations. The poster has been professionally restored and mounted on linen, giving it a very clean appearance. Fine+ on Linen.
