All edges gilt. This 1851 edition of Scott's famous biography of Napoleon has a beautiful fore-edge painting of Holyrood Palace in Edinburgh, Scott's hometown and birthplace, in fact. The painting depicts approximately a dozen human figures in the foreground, including children at play, and the towering front of the Holyrood Palace in the background. The painting is in excellent condition. The book is in good condition, with the rear board detached at the rear endpaper, not affecting the fore-edge painting in any way.

Shipping: Books & Catalogs (view shipping information)
