There are only a handful of science fiction films from the 1950s that can easily be called "classic," and "Forbidden Planet" is certainly one of them. Produced by MGM, shot in Eastman Color with dazzling special effects supplied by Walt Disney's studio, and starring the ultimate on-screen Robot, Robby, this feature, based on William Shakespeare's "The Tempest," pushed science fiction out of the cheap drive-in fare and into the mainstream Hollywood productions. The poster is folded and has some tiny tears and crimps along the borders. There is also one large pinhole in each corner.
