For Your Boy 30 x 20 Artist: Brown. WWI For Your Boy.
For Your Boy. 30" x 20" Artist: Brown. Printed for the Y.M.C.A. and the National War Work Campaign. This poster depicts a soldier sitting down, resting, and getting served a hot drink by a war camp worker. The Y.M.C.A. symbol is present in the corner. The Y.M.C.A. movement was founded in London on June 6th, 1844, by George Williams and a group of like-minded Evangelical Christians. Williams was a draper, and a part of the large group of men who were coming into big cities for work in Industry during the Industrial Revolution. Williams and his friends were disappointed at the lack of wholesome activities for young men in the city. So the "Y" was born. During the war, the Y.M.C.A. and the Y.W.C.A. provided soldiers with many of the comforts of home while overseas. This is a fantastic Rockwellesqe painting. A must have!!

Condition: Fine; cockling from severe fold memory, normal wear on edges from rolling/storage, dirt stains on upper corners.
