This monk table is made of hand-carved and painted wood and comes from Tibet. There he is called chogtse and has three folding legs. The latter shows open work elements such as dragons and clouds. In the center the desired jewel Cintamani is visible. The ornaments are worked in high relief, which creates an appealing look and at the same time a dynamic effect. The table top is accented in red with other motifs and the inside of the table is untreated.



The tempting monk table shows signs of age and wear. Little loss of material at the corners and the legs, notches on the table top and color abrasion can be seen. The width measures 77 cm and the height is 30 cm.



Cintamani

A Cintamani is a wish-fulfilling jewel within both Hindu and Buddhist traditions. In Buddhism, it is often held by the Bodhisattvas, Avalokiteshvaras and Ksitigarbhas.
