Flying Tigers. The group of volunteer aviators formed in World War II to help the Chinese in their fight against the Japanese. They became famous for their feats of performance and endurance in safeguarding the lifeline for supplies, the Burma Road. A page from the 1994 Flying Tiger Reunion, signed by sixteen flyers on their Tiger letterhead, 51/2 x 81/2. Seven are identified as Aces, plus nine other Tiger flyers. Also, on separate 3 x 5 card, signature of Joe Rosbert, added in his hand, "Flying Tiger...AVG - 1st Sqdn." Photo, 4 x 5, of the noted Charles Bond, who was responsible for the tiger's mouth painted on each plane. In uniform, signed and inscribed. All very fine.
