Two items: an FDC signed in black felt tip, "Frank A. Andersen, 'Jake,' 1st Sqdn."; and an unsigned handwritten letter from Andersen critiquing the leadership of General Joseph Stilwell and Major General Clayton Bissell, penned in black felt tip on two off-white 5 x 3.5 cards, in full: "The real tragedy of Gen. Chennault was that as a Brig. Gen. he was subordinate to two wing dings, namely Gen. Stillwell & Gen. Bissel. Stillwell was a co-hort of Douglas McArthur, both of whom thought any war could only be won by infantrymen. Bissell was a Philadelphia socialite who knew very little about air warfare. Bissel sent us 6 B-25's from India but thought it might be a good idea to bomb Hap held Rangoon, Burma Airfield before flying on to Kunming China. Results, 4 ran out of gas & crashed in the Himalayas. two made it to us, one landed dead stick out of gas & the other had one dead gunner. P.S. Rumor has it, Bissel had himself decorated for this daring raid." In overall fine condition.
